Rookie Elliott Schutte has scored pole position for race one for the final round of the Radical Australia Cup, at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Conditions had changed since yesterday, with light rain and gloomy clouds covering The Bend Motorsport Park circuit before qualifying for race once commenced.
The category took to the track behind series leader Chris Perini, in the slightly damp conditions.
A late in the session flying lap by Elliott Schutte denied current championship leader Perini pole position. Schutte’s lap was completed on his final flying lap of the session, finishing at a 1m51.401.
Perini will start race one of the final round from third position on the grid, with only three-tenths of a second splitting the top three finishers. Perini’s closest title rivals, Peter Carr / Peter Paddon will start the race right behind Perini in fourth and Jordan Oon / Adam Lisle in sixth.
A notable effort was from Rookie Caleb Cumich in the GCM Enviro Arise Racing entry, who scored his personal best qualifying position of his career in second, with a lap time of 1m51.667.
Race 1 will start at 11:50am local time and will be streamed live on 7plus.
