CHRIS PERINI and Peter Paddon have continued their ongoing battle for the 2022 Radical Cup Australia series by trading the fastest times in practice today at Queensland Raceway.
Ultimately it was the championship leader Perini who ended the day quickest of the field across three practice sessions ahead of Round 4 racing which commences tomorrow.
Perini’s 1m10.8805s flyer in the third and final practice session of the day doubled as the day’s best, while Paddon’s 1m10.9856s best was second quickest on the day.
Both times aren’t far from the Radical track record at Queensland Raceway with times expected to be quicker on Saturday.
The margins were tiny across the practice sessions with the top four cars split by just two-tenths on the combined times.
Brad and Mitch Neilson ended the day third – 0.1212s behind Perini – while West Aussie Elliott Schutte was fourth, 0.2 seconds behind the pacesetter.
Peter Clare was fifth overall and just 0.5 seconds from the day’s best time. Zig Fuhrmeister, Stephen Champion, Adam Lisle, Ash Samadi and Warwick Morris completed the top-10 in combined times.
Jonathan Grant, Sebastien Fiorenza, Greg Kenny, Bradley Russell, Bill Medland, James Hernandez and Sue Hughes completed the field.
The field returns for Qualifying on Saturday morning at 7:30am, followed by the first 50-minute race at 10:05am.
